Airfix #A04016 1/72 Bristol Blenheim Mk.I The Bristol Blenheim bomber was ordered "off the drawing board", and first deliveries to No 114 Sqn began in 1937. By the time of the Munich crisis in September 1938 sixteen home-based bomber squadrons were equipped with the type. Perhaps more than any other British aircraft of the inter-war years, the Bristol Blenheim illustrates the rapid pace of aviation development during this period. A world beater when it entered service in 1937, it was effectively obsolete by the start of the war, but would fight on valiantly in the hands of brave crews from Britain and its Commonwealth, until more modern strike aircraft entered service.
