This is an Airfix 1/72 Scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Avro Lancaster, a British Royal Air Force four-engine heavy bomber in World War II. This 1/72 scale model kit depicts the Lancaster bomber flown during the famous 1943 mission codenamed "Operation Chastise", in which Lancaster bombers of the RAF 617 Squadron carrying special drum shaped bouncing bombs attacked the dams of the Ruhr Valley. Model kit features: Kit features engraved panel lines, well-appointed cockpit and bombardier's station, reinforcing central wing spars, fully rendered wheel wells, optional position landing gear with weighted tires, poseable gun turrets, separately molded rudders and elevators, optional position flaps, single-piece propellers with separate spinners, multi-part canopy, exhaust flame dampers, modified 'Dambuster' lower fuselage-bomb bay with back-spin mechanism and 'Upkeep' bouncing type bomb with handling trolley.
