There are a variety of paints suitable for spray and brushing. Below gives a brief explanation what they are generally used for. For information on Alclad paint click here.
TAMIYA SRAY PAINT, is recommended for painting large parts of your models such as car bodies. It is a lot quicker and will give you a much better finish. Avoid spray painting outside on windy, raining or cloudy days. Humidity in the air can take off the shine.
TAMIYA ACRYLIC PAINTS,
are excellent for either brush or air brushing plastic model kits. These paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins, and can be used on styrofoam, wood, styrol resins, as well as the common model plastics. This paint covers well, flows smoothly with no blushing or fading, and can be blended easily.
When you begin using the Tamiya Acrylic Paint, it is recommended to thin the paint for the best possible airbrush experience. Airbrushing Tamiya acrylic paint directly and un-thinned from the bottle is usually too thick for most applications.
TAMIYA AIRCRAFT PAINTS,
are specifically designed for finishing aircraft models. All colours in this range have been made to represent the colours used on the 1/32 and 1/48 scale model aircraft. All shades are aerosol containing 100ml of synthetic lacquer paint.
TAMIYA POLYCARBONATE PAINTS,
these spray paints were especially developed for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modelling. Each can contains 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing the model. Paint the body from the inside, keeping the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing, apply another coat. Small details should be brush painted beforehand, using Tamiya bottle paints for polycarbonate. These paints are completely safe to use on gas-powered R/C bodies.
TAMIYA ENAMEL PAINTS,
are used for brush or spray painting, and can be applied to almost any surface of wood, metal or plastic. Each bottle contains 10ml of color and comes in 23 glossy colors, 48 matt colors and 7 translucent finishes plus an exclusive thinner and flat base. When spray painting enamels, best results are achieved by adding 2 parts of thinner to 10 parts of paint.
