Solido #S1807001 1/18 1990 BMW 850 (E31) CSI -Brillant Reds
To replace the 6 Series E24 model, BMW decided to invest a considerable amount by developing a totally new luxury coupe, the 8 Series E31 model. Presented at the 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show, this coupe aimed to compete with Mercedes SL and SEC and Porsche 928 and 911, with a special eye on the North American market. The CSi version completed the range in February 1992, equipped with a 5.6-liter 380hp M6-type V12 engine developed by BMW Motorsport. Production of the 850 CSi ceased in Europe in December 1996.
