Triple 9 #T9-1800205 1/18 1985 Peugeot 205 T16 #14 Tour de Corse
The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 was the protagonist of the World Rally for a whole three-year period, starting from 1984. This four-wheel drive car with three self-locking differentials was equipped with a 16-cylinder in-line 4-cylinder central engine of 1,779 cm³ inclined by 20 degrees, supercharged through a KKK turbine that allowed to reach 370 hp. The use of a Garrett turbocharger since 1985, with a maximum pressure of 2.5 bar, raised the power to 560 hp. In the face of this enormous power, the original chassis with central steel monocoque and rear tubular support was reinforced with carbon fiber. The gearbox used was a 5-speed manual. This car weighing 910 kg with a wheelbase of 2,540 mm, used Michelin tires. During his short career he won two Constructors 'championships and as many Drivers' titles, in 1985 with the Finnish Timo Salonen and the following year with his compatriot Juha Kankkunnen.
