Wills #SS56 OO Level Crossing Kit These distinctive gates were one of the many different types used to seperate road from rail. Most of the time the gates were set across the track, but because trains took precedence over road traffic and pedestrian, the gates were moved across the road to allow trains safe movement. The task of moving the gates was undertaken by a crossing keeper or signalman. If there was no signal box nearby, often a cabin (SS29) was provided, sometimes with a cottage (SS39) for the crossing keeper.
1 pair of gates; each 95 x 17mm + plastic cobbled stone and planked track crossing.
This is a scratch build kit and may be illustrated in a finished state that shows items not in the kit.
