AutoWorld #AMM1225 1/18 1970 Plymouth AAR Cuda

In 1970, contracting with Dan Gurney’s All American Racers (AAR), Plymouth began competing in SCCA Trans Am racing with two cars driven by Dan Gurney and Swede Savage. In order to compete, the rules state that at least 2500 street versions of the same car must be built by the manufacturer and made available to the public. So, 2724 units of the 1970 Plymouth AAR ’Cuda were built. Under the hood was a 340ci V8 with three dual-barrel Holley carbs, producing an underrated 290hp at 5000rpm. Upgrades included race-inspired suspension, forged crank and rods, larger brakes, and an aluminum intake manifold. The exterior featured a rear deck spoiler, blackout hood treatment, optional louvers, and a distinctive AAR crest with a 75-segment strobe stripe running the length of the car.

Auto World has replicated this 1970 Plymouth AAR ‘Cuda in Blue Fire Metallic paint with color-matched bumpers. The AAR heritage lives on!
